Athletic Performance offers the most advanced functional training system available to help our adults and athletes reach their fitness potential. We focus on functional and progressive movement for adults, as well as sports performance, training and enhancement for athletes. We offer programs that challenge the body and force adaptations in a safe training environment.

Athletic Performance provides high intensity, group training for adults and athletes in a newly designed and exclusive training facility. The Athletic Performance training system provides specialised programs that challenge the body, emphasising injury reduction and maximising results!

Our Mission

Athletic Performance provides comprehensive strength and conditioning systems for all Athletic Performance members from the general population to elite athletes, using progressive training principles and a focus on superior coaching.

The Program

Athletic Performance is proud to be the only MBSC Thrive Licensed Facility in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. This means that Athletic Performance has a very close working relationship with Mike Boyle. Pieter Smeets, Owner and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Athletic Performance, has been trained at Mike Boyle’s facility in Woburn, MA (USA) and has continued his further education there over the past years.

Mike Boyle served as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Boston University for 15 years, also for the past 25 years he been the Strength and Conditioning Coach for Men’s Ice Hockey at Boston University. Mike also was the Boston Red Sox Strength and Conditioning coach in 2013 that won the World Series. In addition to his duties at Boston University and the Red Sox, from 1991-1999 Boyle served as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League. Mike was also the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the 1998 US Women’s Olympic Ice Hockey Team, Gold medallists in Nagano and 2014 Silver medallists in Sochi.

But this program isn’t just for the elite. While the program implements the very same principles that Mike Boyle uses to train world-class athletes, it’s 100 percent personalised for any age, fitness level, or goal.

The Athletic Performance program is designed to bring out the best in every body, to help you look, move, and feel better.

The Training Facility

When you walk into our facility, you won’t see many machines. In fact, you won’t see any traditional machines at all.

Instead, you’ll first see lots of space. What do we put in that space? People. That’s the secret of why Athletic Performance is so effective.

We don’t rely on machines that you sit in to make sure you’re training correctly. Our coaches do that. We don’t ignore you. We train you.

Our goal: To help you move like you were designed to move. All so you can train safely, intensely, and effectively – for the best results of your life.

Make no mistake: The Athletic Performance program does utilise both traditional and state-of-the art training equipment. So you’ll use kettlebells, dumbbells, medicine balls, plyometric boxes, and agility ladders, but also Keiser Functional Trainers, Drive Sleds, Half-Racks, TRX Suspension Trainers, Schwinn Airdyne AD Pro Bikes, and more.

But the focus isn’t on the equipment. It’s on your body: How you move and how you feel. And how you can get better every single workout. That’s what Athletic Performance is all about.
